After the wondrously overloaded stratospheric sprawl of 2006, Venn 04 claimed new urban territories, with Arnolfini established as the main festival venue and other central spaces such as Thekla and Louisiana also used for the first time. Otherwise, there was the same heaving mass of spine chills, sonic spills and spontaneous arts thrills: subterranean art-rock avatars, uniquely crafted song-smiths, kaleidoscopic visionaries, Scandinavian sound sorcerers and dub- techno legends all featured amongst Venn’s finest, most stylistically broad programme yet.
