MV & EE with The Golden Road

MV & EE with The Golden Road

Tour dates: Sat 19th Jan 2008 to Sun 17th Feb 2008
In support of the zone-hot whooper Gettin’ Gone long player (already being hailed a classic) on Ecstatic Peace, MV&EE with The Golden Road slide down the highways and byways to your town. Matt Valentine and Erika Elder plan to amp out the shows with good vibes, yearning vocals, and erotic song charges alongside unkempt country tones and rock riffs that will make this a tour to continue their fine traditions. The live band consists of the wonderful bass generator Samara Lubelski, Doc Dunn on pedal steel/resonator, Chris Davis hitting the drums, plus friends on the way...maybe.

Matt 'MV' Valentine and Erika 'EE' Elder have been constantly expanding horizons with their music as Tower Recordings, The MV&EE Medicine Show and The Bummer Road in recent years. Together they have formulated a modern-ancient cosmic-blues universe of sound. Killer riffs, plaintive and yearning/near political vocals/hollers combine as they draw on (and out) classic vibes, ‘hot’ blues, loose rock n roll, free folk (a phrase attributed to Matt), primitive scenes and the everlast emotive pleasures of music. There seems to be a natural limitlessness to MV/EE that allows their songs and sounds to glide in on the listener.

After reams of private press, limited LPs, CD-Rs,and tour only releases - and then a Mother Of Thousands double on Time-Lag and last year's deep-fried way-stoned rock boogie 'Green Blues'  - this is the MV&EE song set for the stand up set. It is the one that will rock new fans - be it connoisseurs of dirty rock, cosmic country vibes or those already in thrall of those distinct and magical sonic psych touches and solos. It is completely MV&EE and then some. This will certainly be their most epic outing yet in Europe, but perfectly balanced for your live needs. MV&EE are keen to bring this ‘Golden Sound’ to the greater public.

Record news just in: the Gettin' Gone’ double LP will be issued before the tour, The Uranian Ray LP out now on Spirit Of Orr (a reissue of COM 19). Solo outings: Matt 'mv' Valentine 7 inch on Time-lag (P.K. Dick b/w We Can't Build You) coupled with forthcoming UK only singles on The Great Pop Supplement and Golden Lab Records. +++ forthcoming limited edition live LP from Sheffield/UK on Singing Knives from the duo exchange entitled MV&EE meet Snake's Pass and Other Human Conditions. Expect high quality tour only merch from Child Of Microtones throughout the Euro/UK shows.

The Golden Road studio band comprised J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and John Moloney (Sunburned Hand Of The Man) on drums, Willie Lane on guitar, Samara Lubelski and Ron Schneiderman on bass, Doc Dunn on pedal steel, resonator, bass, drums, and vocals, and Luisa Reichenheim on harmonium. Oh, and also, a dog named Zuma, who allegedly played bells on the record.

The Doozer will join MV&EE on the road in the UK. He makes strange kaleidoscopic pop songs filtered through psychedelia, garage and South East Asian sounds and has an album out on Pickled Egg.
